In this section we will be looking at the addition polymerisation of alkenes which is the joining of two or more monomer to forms polymers that are used in industry
E.g. Ethene:

The polymer is named polyethene after the monomer that has been joined however more known as being called polythene. It is also unreactive apart from the joining of other monomers to make bigger chains
Thinking it with people:

Polymerisation of alkene is used to make may of our everyday objects:
- Washing-up bowl
- Plastic bags
- Rope
- Clothing
- Coating cookware
- Any many more
